Easter flowers

I usually don't like Daffodils, I find the yellow of them insipid, but these little beauties are like their more beautiful cousins. Not bad for 89p from Aldi.

This little Rose was in a bouquet of flowers given to me by a friend, which I think had been passed down from 3 other people ! Highly recycled flowers - still stunning.

And lastly a beautiful Orchid. We had Orchids and tulips at our wedding, my two favourite flowers. This little beauty was a gift from my lovely man on our anniversary.

Flowers make the world a happier place, don't you think ?

Ten on Tuesday

1. The Little Tyke has started saying 'Mummy' she said 'Mum' a long while a go, but she has finally said Mummy. Made my week/month/year.

2. Other cute words this week are hummis (humous), Bee and Mouse. So very sweet, she says these ones in a cutesie high girly toddler voice. Really does take me a back every time she says them - I kind of thought the english language would be too hard for her to learn ! Yes I know every other kids learns words, but when it's your own little creation coming out with them, it's just an amazing thing.

3. We went to the beach on Mothers day, managed to find a lovely patch of beach not too far from where we live, where you can park right on the prom, which means I can actually get to the sand. We went there last year on Mothers day too, feels like it could be a little tradition in the making. Tasty chips from the van, nice cup of tea in a polystyrene cup - bliss.
The last few weeks have been tough, and the breeze and sea views blew some of the cobwebs away.

4. I have found myself watching lots of programmes on BBC2 lately, add that to my radio4 listening habit, and I am worried that I am ageing prematurely. I like to balance it with a bit of 'hippidy hoppidy' music ( as husbando calls it ) every so often, and still shop in topshop from time to time, so hopefully that balances things out a little  ............ ?! #slighltydisillusioned

5. I have resided myself to the fact that unless I do some serious exercise, and stop eating cake for breakfast, my belly will always be .........just a little bit fat. Yes I know I'm not a 'large lady' but when you've been a skinny minnie for most of your life, well, a spare tyre does feel a bit like it shouldn't be there. Don't feel as cold now though, fat is a great insulator.

6. I have always really disliked the number 6, and was slightly disappointed that we got married in 2006. Just thought i'd share.

7. Do you ever do your weekly shop and just want to buy something you don't usually buy? This week I bought a pie. We'r not really a meat pie kind of family, partly cos I don't do much cooking at the moment, and it's just not something I think of buying, only making. But this week, Mr Sainsburys is making one for me. Delicious. It's nice having others cook for you, even if they are in a factory somewhere far away from my kitchen wearing silly net hats !

8. Little tyke has been playing ..in and out...in and out.... of her new (well quite old, but new to us) playhouse.

It's sat next to our old christmas tree which hasn't quite made it to the tip yet - looks a bit like a weird scandinavian time warp type situation in our garden at present.

9. Picked up a Bob the builder toy for £5 reduced from £40 - don't mind if I do. 'Bob's surf shack' !

Poor Little Tike did fall off a chair in costa while playing with the above plastic item. She was so engrossed in 'bob' that she quite literally just went head over heals onto the floor. oooops, lack of parental supervision ahoy.
The plastic fantastic builder extraodinaire also served as friday afternoon's entertainment - phew.... didn't make it toddler group this week, so was just what the Dr ordered.

P.S Did you know Bob has a friend called 'Brad Rad' ? He comes with his own surf board and everything ! Who knew.

10. Little Tyke's hair is looking a bit 'curly watts' from the mid 90's. She has this floaty wavy bits of the top and then a kind of stumpy under fringe which won't grow. Such a pretty little lady, which such an unsightly hair do. Bless.

Thankfullness

Today I am thankful for a few things and here they are.....

That Willow has taken to sleeping in til about 8am. She has been doing this for a while now, and it is pretty nice. It's one of those things you don't really want to tell anyone incase it stops. But for now, I'm just going to be thankful for it. And extra hour I don't need energy for makes a huge difference to my life.

Our family. We had some sad news in our house this week, and someone bought us a delicious Marksandspencers posh meal dine in thingy. It was delicious, and just made things seem a bit happier.

Bountys. I have eaten quite a few this week, I love the sweet coconut chocolatiness.

Hot running water, I love a good hot bath, and just being able to turn on a tap and hot water coming out, well, it's great really isn't it.

My Heavenly Father, loves me through everything, and knowing He walks through life's joys and trials with me, well, it's wonderful.

A cloudy week.

It's been a funny week, kind of daunted as to what to 'blog' about, as to be honest, not that much has happened. I am usually the master of making even the most mundane occurrence fun, and report it with great gusto, but this week The CFS monster has been out to play and has kept me a bit cooped up at home. A few plans cancelled which I was looking forward to, and a feeling of frustration hovering over me like a cloud on a dreary day.
There have been a little outing or two to a baby group thanks to a very lovely 'Mummy friend' who came to whisk Willow and I away to a room filled with toys and places for Willow to roam. But there has been a lot of time in bed, and lying on the longue floor while Willow crawls around and gets up to mischief.

When I started writing a blog, i never set out for it to be about CFS, as i don't like to give it that much of a place in my life, but it really does affect everything so it's difficult not to include it really. As I write I start to think of the things that have happened, and there are often more than I realise, so i guess that's a good thing ....................

I met my friends new little squashy baby, weighing in at a whopping 11lbs, he was a delight to cuddle, and squeeze. A beautiful boy. There is something so special about new babies, they bring so much hope, optimism and innocence.

I also dipped my toe in the world of making ' salt dough', and I have to say I am rather pleased with the result. It has taken me a few days to clear up the mess and dry out the little creations. But we are well on the way to having some heart shaped christmas decorations to hang about the place when the festive season arrives. For me completing little creative projects like these are essential, they often take me twice as long as they should, as I get exhausted mid way through, and have to wait til another little portion of energy arrives to complete the task, but when I hang something on my wall, or send a little card in the post, it gives me a sense of achievement that watching TV all day just doesn't do.

One positive about having very limited energy, is that the thai meal I was hoping to cook to celebrate the Hubster's birthday, is now going to be cooked for us by a delicious thai restaurant, who also do take away - Wonderful.......... It will taste better, and they'll be no washing up to sit on the kitchen table for a few days til someone throws it in the dishwasher.
So, while I have shed a tear or two about not being able to cook for my beloved, I am thankful to 'chilli banana' and their culinary delights.

And a cheery, silly picture, to end a rather 'cloudy' post....

What more do you need in life, than your Gramps and a Rhubarb leaf as an umbrella ?

Vomit on Sunday

Last night there was vomit in our house, just a little bit but boy does that oh so nasty smell know how to linger.......

Sunday, i love Sundays, a time in my week when i attempt to stop and remember my creator and all He is and has done. Today I am thanking Him for the health of my child, a little bit of vomit aside, she is one healthy happy girl, and for that I will always be thankful.
